Money is very important, but for a human, it is not the be all and end all, it is only important to be paid enough to take the issue of money off the table.
Once cognitive skills are required to complete a task providing traditional incentives to improve performance doesn’t work which is why you’ll find well-paid people who provide a poor service to the customer.
